About Green Acres Nursery
Located at 1378 Bunnell Rd, Apopka, FL 32703, Green Acres Nursery operates as a plant nursery serving Apopka in Florida. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In Apopka, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Florida, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 9 am–6 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. I needed to replace two flowering shrubs that were damaged by the freeze in February 2026. I was unsure of the name, so I took a picture of an adjacent one that survived. The owners identified it in less than a second -- ixora, and then gave me directions to the exact spot where I could find them among their extensive inventory, cautioning me to select those with larger leaves rather than the dwarf variety that was adjacent. They are true experts and also know their impressive inventory. Prices were very reasonable, and it was a real pleasure doing business here. It was more like meeting new friends than a commercial transaction. Need plants? Go here first. Don't need plants? Go here anyway. You may be tempted by the large selection of high quality plants, plus you'll meet nice people.

Green Acres Nursery is a hidden gem! This family-run nursery has an amazing selection of plants, including many unique varieties you won't find at big-box stores. The staff may be small, but they're incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions about plant care, planting, and maintenance. The indoor plant section under the tarp is one of my favorite parts of the nursery. The prices are outstanding and honestly hard to beat anywhere else in the area. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash and personal checks, so plan accordingly. Also, it's actually closer to the west side of Altamonte Springs than downtown Apopka. If you've never been, I highly recommend stopping by. Great plants, great prices, and friendly, knowledgeable service make this one of the best local nurseries around.

The best Nursery in Central Florida. & a place that makes me very happy 😊. They have a wide variety of plants that love the shade and plants that love the sun. The plants are all well maintained and loved. The prices are at least 5-6 dollars less than HD & Lowe’s. The family that owns it are even better. Such loving and gentle individuals. This place is top notch with a low key vibe 🌳❤️

Amazing place to walk around. It’s huge! And the prices are way better than Lowe’s or Home Depot. The owners are very very nice. I planted a bunch of azalea bushes.
